Sure! Lets get a KHL refugee, who wants to be back in the NHL more than anything and knows the first team he plays with is most likely a stepping stone for that final big contract!
We get him for a year or two, he will be busting his ass to prove his worth |

as long as Pittsburgh has some solid strip joints then Kostitsyn and his brother would be happy...because thats where you will find him when he's not playing hockey. |

I like boobs as well. Can't hold that against him. If he's cheap and can still play what do we have to lose? |

If you are going to put a picture describing what the word enigma stands for, you could easily put a mug of this guy. One year deal might not be bad, but he doesn't get me thrilled. |

I would be fine with a one year "prove it" contract. I dont think it would be for much, considering he isn't getting paid right now. |

I'd take him on a one year deal for $2M per. He is definitely not worth the long term risk, but I think it would be good to get Malkin a fellow Russian to play with. |

Yep, one year deal only. See what happens. Even Semin knows he needs to produce when a bigger contract is the reward. |

He's from Belarus- not Russia. Guess it is close enough. |

I choose this time to mention the Kostitsyn brothers' ties to organized crime. |

I think a one year deal under $2M could make sense. He is more of a middle six guy and I'm almost afraid he would be a position blocker for Kapanen or Bennett.
Ultimately, I'd consider signing him but for the love of god, dont make it the only move to address top 6 lol. |

guy should have been a 40 goal/40 assist player for 10 years. talent was off the charts and he was built like a brick poophouse. but he was lazy and, worst of all, stupid, which is a terrible combination. the guy literally moved once every 5 or 6 games. but he's only 30 and if he's matured to a point, could be a really nice low-risk proposition for a team like Pittsburgh. |

So, has Edmonton been relegated to the AHL yet?

Much smarter decision than Semin.
Produced at NHL level. KHL production is where you would expect it to be so he hasn't had a drop in production. I don't even think you need a prove-it deal since his KHL stats indicating a guy still performing.
With the crop of NHL forwards available UFA he might go for more than you expect and potential term.
I got no problem trading Kunitz for an asset and replacing with a cheap Kotsysin. Actually wouldn't be against a 2 year $5 milliion deal.
Risks is shelling out 4 years 20 or so for Kang from the Pirates view. Kotsysin already a proven NHL player who just started playing in Russia for more money |
